5 Ways the One-Boat Network Helps Your Minn Kota Work Smarter

5 ways the one-boat network helps your trolling motor

The power and precision of Minn Kota, together with the intelligence of Humminbird is an unstoppable combination that delivers new levels of boat control. That’s why we created the One-Boat Network® of products, to help any angler do more with their boat to put more fish on the line.

Whether you’re an elite pro winning the Bassmaster Classic or a weekend warrior on the hunt for big fish, the more your trolling motor and fish finder work together, the more successful you can be.

But how?

Trolling Motor and Fish Finder Integration for Ultimate Boat Control

A fish finder that can talk to your trolling motor and shallow water anchor sounds cool, but what does it mean when you’re on the water? Here are five ways the One-Boat Network puts more fish on the line.

1. Follow a Contour - or a Shoreline - Without Lifting a Finger

A trolling motor with i-Pilot Link can put you in command of a feature called “Follow,” which automatically keeps your boat on any contour you choose. From your Humminbird fish finder, select a depth contour (or the shoreline) and activate Follow. Your motor will kick in, find the contour and automatically run your boat along it.

Include the power of Humminbird AutoChart Live which allows you to create a custom contour map and you can do even more extraordinary things, like follow a vegetation line or a hard to soft bottom transition line.

2. Store Your Favorite Spot – and 2,499 More

i-pilot link store spot-lock locations

Minn Kota motors with i-Pilot can store more than a dozen of your favorite Spot-Lock locations. But add in Humminbird with i-Pilot Link and you can save 2,500 spots, allowing you to re-create your most productive days on the water.  If you’ve got more spots than that, you’re lying.

It gets better – stay tuned for #4.

3. Anchor in from Anywhere with Talon Shallow Water Anchors

You never know when you might come up on the perfect spot – but with the One-Boat Network, you can always be ready to stay on it. Talon Shallow Water Anchors anchor you in anywhere, and when it’s connected to your Humminbird, you can deploy it from the fish finder at the push of a button –  and five other ways.

Hit the brakes when idling from the comfort of your console, so you never miss a spot or a fish.

4. Don’t Just Save GPS Waypoints, Save Yourself the Hassle of Getting to Them

You know you can save waypoints with GPS on your Humminbird fish finder. But did you know that your Minn Kota motor could take you to them automatically? On the Humminbird, just select the waypoint and use the "Go-To" function to turn your motor on and have it automatically take your boat to the waypoint and initiate Spot-Lock until you're ready to make your next move.

You can also customize the "Arrival Mode" function to either automatically Spot-Lock or drop your Talons when you reach your destination.

Remember the Spot-Lock locations from #2? Yeah, you can navigate to those too, right from your Humminbird fish finder.

5. Fish a Productive Path? Save It and Retrace It

follow a track with i-pilot link one-boat network

You can hit record before you start any path.  But if you’re trolling along and wish you could retrace your last mile, the BackTrack feature has you covered.  It turns your last trolling path (up to 3 miles) into a saved iTrack, which you can access on your Humminbird and retrace with your Minn Kota Trolling Motor.

Flipping grass edges can be a great way to cover a lot of water, but anyone who has tried fishing an expansive weedline or reed bed knows how hard it can be to recreate the perfect pass in wind or current.

Using a track means you can fine-tune your speed without the risk of spooking fish with constant starting and stopping – you focus on fishing and the One-Boat Network will take care of the navigation.
